Spinal Cord (and Brain) Biosensor

This invention is a real-time monitor of the spinal cord and brain microenvironment in injury and disease. It utilizes a lumbar catheter that contains a pressure sensor and/or other physiologic biosensors at the tip and also allows for sampling and exchange of spinal fluid (i.e., CSF dialysis) and drug delivery. This invention allows for more precise therapeutic interventions in spinal cord and brain injury and disease.  It allows monitoring of a number of physiological parameters, including but not limited to flow and morphological parameters of the spinal cord, as well as allowing clinical interventions.
